#ThrowbackTuesday - Leave The Footprints, Don't Follow Them

MEDIA & MARKETING PANEL C.A.R. 2016

I was invited to speak at the California Association of Realtors Conference in Long Beach, on the Media and Marketing Panel.   As always I will gladly jump on stage to spout about things I'm passionate about and was honored to do so.

One of the main things I spoke about was what I think the secret to being successful in this business is… One word – YOUTUBE.  Lead, don’t follow and find your own information.

It's funny stepping out of my bubble to see what the rest of my industry is doing and it's always kinda wild to compare what I'm doing.  It seems that real estate, for the most part, is stuck in the dark ages... but I attempted to shine a light on at least my contribution to the industry in this episode of the Vlog...

Leave the footprints, don’t follow them.

Thanks for being part of the rebellion

Authentic & Genuine Conversations - Vlog - Backstage Pass

Authentic & Genuine Conversations - Vlog - Backstage Pass

Business for so long has been predicated on selling, but times have changed.  It’s not just about the houses anymore.  It’s about you!  I’m a big believer that the key to being successful in this business is achieved by having genuine conversations with like-minded people.  The amazing byproduct of these sincere conversations is trust.  AND when people trust you they want to work with you.

In this video, which was shot last year, this was the first time I spoke at the famed Skirball Center in Bel Air which after this performance has become a regular speaking gig for me. This pitch focuses on the strategy of "Not Giving a F@#K" about opinions and chatter and keeping our heads firmly in the game of being authentic and genuine. I want to thank the Master himself Mr. Steve Shull for having me speak at Skirball this time and many afterward.

I also want to thank you all for watching and for me the secret of "making a connection" is to Stir emotions with authenticity.

Thanks for being part of the rebellion...

Pete Lorimer Podcast - The Power Of The Pause

Pete Lorimer Podcast - The Power Of The Pause

This is a mantra super close to my heart, as I’ve implemented in my daily life for over two decades now.  That’s how effective it is.  We all experience instances where we are questioning ourselves in terms of what we are doing, where we are going in life, what’s happening with the people around us, etc.  We all get in situations where we become overemotional and our judgment gets a bit clouded.  For example: Is my client working with another realtor? The person I’m working with on this deal just really pissed me off, etc.   The way to handle any of these situations is simple… just PAUSE.  The Power Of The Pause will save you from making big mistakes, possibly ruining relationships and veering off your path.

A few rules for when you find yourself wanting to react to something that’s got you riled up or filled with doubt.  Stop, take a breather and remember…

-    If it’s a good idea now, it’s still going to feel like a good idea the next morning.

-    If we react too quickly it’s saying that we don’t trust the person we are dealing with, or that we don’t trust ourselves.

-    Sometimes things are time sensitive and we don’t have a whole day to sit on it, but we can always take SOME time.  Take an hour to calm down and then reassess.

The Power Of The Pause is a life tactic I implore you to adopt.  You’ll be stunned at how much second-guessing it will settle within yourself and just how many negative situations it will help you avoid getting yourself into!  Trust me.

I really appreciate all of the responses.  Thanks for listening AND for being part of the rebellion.

Cheers

Pete Lorimer Podcast - Opinion on Zillow - Hashtag Ninja - Silicon Valley Closing Gift

Pete Lorimer Podcast - "Opinions on Zillow - Hashtag Ninja - Silicon Valley Closing Gift "

This weeks show is in three parts, the first topic I will be covering is the Gorilla in the room if real estate, Zillow. I will go over my thoughts and opinions regarding rhe giant of the real estate industry. Love it or hate it it is most certainly here to stay so I wanted to give you an idea of what my stance is in the mix of it all.

Second item on the docket is how to use hashtags. Have you ever sat staring at your phone after doing a killer post wracking your brain for hashtags or worse still "What thwe heck are hashtags!!". Well calm your nerves because I have a playbook on the subject that should shed some light on the subject, plus I will tell you how I use them.

Last but not least, Silicon Valley does it again with Evabot which is a much more sophisticated way for us to send closing gifts to our people than the mad dash to the mall on your way to the final walkthough. Evabot makes the process simple and painless but with the HUGE added bonus of being able to track data too.

I really appreciate so many of you texting, emailing and sending love its greatly appreciated and I will have another podcast out next week. Thanks for listening AND for being part of the rebellion.

Cheers

I am Making a TV Show | Peter Lorimer Vlog #62 | Travel & Vlogging

In my Vlog this week I am very proud to announce that I have been chosen to be a host on a massive network show (not allowed to say which one yet), where I will be traveling around the USA going to some well-known towns and cities during the recording of the show. My Vlog is NOT the show, but rather me vlogging at the same time the show is being made in what little spare time I have.

We start in the beating heart of America but I am not going to give away what city it is (although it’s pretty obvious from the opening).

I could not be more proud to make the show as it’s real estate, travel and design related but that’s all I can say for now. I will update more as the weeks roll.

As always, thanks for watching and your time.

Cheers

MONDAY MANTRA LIVESTREAM - 2018 Goals and How to Hit Them - A Very Big Announcement

In this Mantra I talk about goals and the techniques I have used over the years. Goal setting can be just a destructive as constructive, so, I go over some of the pitfalls that can shatter goal setting along with some belief structures that have helped me to no end over the years.

It is all about putting what we want dead last and putting what our clients want dead first and as long as we do that, the business will continue to find us.
